CDAP Summer Conference & Training Institute - July 23 - 25, 2015
CDAP is pleased to present our training institute on the following timely topic:
OFF-DUTY OFFICER SAFETY
Topical Discussions:
The course is designed to build upon basic officer survival skills and provide students with practical strategies for maintaining their safety while off duty. It is intended for sworn personnel from various law enforcement and corrections disciplines. Students will learn ways to avoid standing out in public settings. They will also learn about potentially dangerous situations and how to react when an incident unfolds. We will discuss friendly fire, avoiding misidentification and avoiding conflict with responding officers. In addition we will discuss educating family members and developing safety plans for off duty encounters.
Instructor:
Master Sergeant William Schmid
William Schmid is a 25 year veteran Law Enforcement Officer in Delaware. He is a 19 year veteran of the Wilmington Department of Police where he currently serves as a street supervisor in the Uniformed Services Division. He is also the Deputy Commander of the Crisis Management Hostage Negotiation Team. William previously served in the Criminal Investigations Division as a Detective, Detective Sergeant, Criminal Intelligence Coordinator and Joint Terrorism Task Force Officer. William is Certified Instructor who teaches a variety of topics including Gang Identification & Investigation, Advanced Gang Investigation, Black Motorcycle Gangs and Hostage Negotiation. He is a Contract Instructor with Alutiiq, LLC and instructs throughout the country on various topics including, Street Gang Identification & Investigation, Active Shooter Response and Off-Duty Safety.
The class date is July 24 and is limited to the first 75 non-members who sign up!
